I just couldn’t chase her away …..would you have been able to??? But shhhhh….don’t tell the neighbors!

I would plant more flowers for her!
She leaves mine alone pretty much—-I spray them with Deer Out….heheehee.
Yes, definitely plant more flowers! You are a kindhearted soul not to chase her off.
Well she has nibbled my flowers a bit and cleans out my birdfeeders but she went to town on the neighbors’ flowers!
I never tire of seeing deer in our neighborhood. Some neighbors welcome the deer, some neighbors are frustrated by the deer. I liked your pictures.
I love the deer. I figure this one especially who has a bum leg is welcome in my yard and feeders!
Laughing out loud at these photos and your accompanying story, but only because the deer isn’t eating MY flowers.
Oh Audrey—you would welcome them! I will send Doe Re Mi up your way if you want!!! She is just such a sweet deer and I can never get upset when she raids the feeders and eats the flowers. But our neighbors have much more lush and accessible ones !
We miss seeing the deer this summer. Must be because of the weather? But they have eaten their share of our trees past years. We love to see them but do not like what they do to our trees.
They do kind of mess up the trees sometimes, don’t they??? But I still love to watch them!
No way, she is too cute and I love her name!
Chris named her—–she is our favorite one!
Were you holding your breath?
I would have been!
No–she is pretty used to me by now taking pictures of her. I sometimes can sneak out and sit on the deck and watch her without her running off—been pretty close to her and she knows I won’t hurt her, I guess.
I hope she’s not to trustful come hunting season…
So far she has avoided the hunter!!! Keeping my fingers crossed this year!
Awww. I couldn’t have chased her either and would have taken a ton of pictures myself!!! They gotta eat too, right?
My thoughts exactly!!!
Oh, what a cutie. Of course, I couldn’t have chased here away! Your neighbors may kill both of us! LOL
Hugs,
Kathy
“her”
Haha!! I have made more typos in the past 2 days than I can imagine!!! No need to correct—I knew what you meant!!!
Such a cutie!
She really is!
Wow! You got really close to it!
She is pretty tame after all the times I have been out with her raiding the birdfeeders!
Your secret is safe with me!
Whew! Of course now it is on the internet so it may not stay secret too long!
Beautiful deer! What kind of ingredients are in DeerOut? My mother used to put hair clippings (from after she cut my brother’s hair) out on her flowers to discourage rabbits. I wonder if it works for deer too…
She’s a lovely creature, though I must admit it would upset me if she ate my plants!
I am not sure what is in the Deer Out—-it is supposed to smell minty but the last time I used it it definitely did not smell minty so I think it had aged or something ! Ugh!!! I really don’t mind her getting into the feeders and plants—too much….
That’s too funny. She was clearly caught in the act.
Indeed she was! She looks guilty, doesn’t she?
cheeky doe! I admit though, I’d toss some apples on the lawn so she’d keep coming back. beautiful.
Do carrots count?
I love the pictures and the story as well. I wish I could get that close to the deer here. By the time I get my camera they are gone. There were 5 of them for a while but I haven’t seen them for a long time.
