A Bit of Post World Book Night Syndrome

Have you ever anticipated something for a really long time and then when the thing that you anticipated for so long finally arrives it is a bit of a let down emotionally?  I think I am suffering Post World Book Night Syndrome. The day has come and gone and I am left…….a bit sad.  There, I said it.  My experience was just that---a bit sad.  But a learning experience. I thought that my first foray into the World Book Night adventure would be best suited if I could get someplace who would … [Read more...]

World Book Night 2014 Is Here!

It is April 23rd and that signals two important events.  First of all it is the 29th birthday of my sweet son, Micah! Happy Birthday to an amazing son!  The other event is a world wide event. Back in February I shared the wonderful news that I was one of the chosen ones meaning that I was selected to be a book giver for World Book Night on April 23, 2014.  You can read here how excited I was to be chosen. If you are not aware of what World Book Night is all about it is an amazing opportunity … [Read more...]

Good Reading? You Betcha!

It is no secret that I love books. From the first time I learned to read---wait---even BEFORE I learned to read I loved books.  My parents both instilled a love of books in me.  My  mom tells the story of one time when a guest was visiting our home and she commented that she was surprised that I was so young and was reading.  Well, what she had seen was me sitting on the steps "reading" a book that had been read to me so often that I had it memorized.  I suspect it was a Dr. Seuss book or Frick … [Read more...]

Saving Homes and Holy Lemonade

Ever wonder why I take blogging so seriously?   At times it appears to have become a full time job with little pay but you know what?   It is all about connecting with people and the relationships that we build with one another. Stay with me on this one--it is kind of complicated.  I have followed Rara's blog Rarasaur for quite awhile.  Rara is an amazing lady who is very compassionate and loving and caring and all those things that I like to embrace in my own life.  She sponsored the NaNo … [Read more...]

I’m Chosen! I’m Chosen!

The email came.  I whooped!  I hollered!  I yelled at the husband and told him that I was in!  Yes--this news deserves all of those exclamation marks, my friends, because "I" was selected to be a World Book Night 2014 giver! One of my bloggy friends, Bernie, who writes a very witty and engaging blog over at One Mixed Bag got me interested last year when she put information on Facebook about World Book Night.  I had never heard of it before so of course I was drawn in since I am all about … [Read more...]

Whatcha Reading?

One of my goals this year was to read 100 books and I am happy to report that this one time I accomplished what I set out to do.  I know a lot of you don't have the time to read and this year I was determined to make the time and I did.   Sometimes that meant that perhaps I might have neglected a few things along the way but by golly----I read my book! I have pretty eclectic taste when it comes to what I read and I am game to give just about any book a go but as I wrote about before here I am … [Read more...]

Guest Post by T. B. Markinson

Today I am thrilled to have T. B. Markinson do a guest post about her newly released second novel---Marionette.  This blogging world is a big and wonderful place and I found T. B. awhile ago and started following her personal blog at 50 Year Project and have totally loved it. When she broke the news that her first book, A Woman Lost, was coming out I jumped on the bandwagon and cheered her on.  Now she shares a bit about her latest novel and I could not be happier to share my blog with her … [Read more...]

Two Authors—Two Romances

I know I say it all the time on my blog but I love meeting bloggy friends.  There are so many talented and gifted people out there in the blogging world and while I don't go to the conferences and belong to any huge group of bloggers I do love the folks that I have discovered through this wonderful mode of communication. When one of "us" has news we like to share it on our blogs so that our readers can be a part of it and today is just that kind of day.  I have been waiting to write this post … [Read more...]
