Everyone needs some tackiness in their life every now and then. I was on a quest to find a tourist trap and find it I did!!! On a trip to Charleston, SC I encountered the best example of tourist "trapiness" that I think I have ever experienced . If you read yesterday's post you read that for my birthday Chris booked a fly fishing trip for us. We have talked about finding something that we both like to do outside together that would be a good thing to develop. Today is THE day. I am going fly fishing for the very first time. Chris is very excited. I am less excited probably because I have memories of golf lessons with Bill Bopple (yep--that was really his name) and how those went. Does Anyone Really Know What Time it Is??? It’s Friday in Chicago!

Last night Chris and I started the weekend early by going to a Chicago concert at the Surf Ballrooom in Clear Lake, Iowa. The Surf is a fabulous venue and I can only imagine how fabulous it would be to be performers playing there with all of the history that goes with it. We have only been there once before for a BB King concert but it is an amazing place to go to a concert. On a recent trip to Raleigh, North Carolina to visit our youngest son we had the fun of going to go see the new Hunt Library at North Carolina State University--his alma mater. It was beyond amazing. I saw a quote today that resonated with me. Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, you must fear or hate them.
